Lasagna

    Lasagna layers tradition with indulgence; however, its preparation can be streamlined for everyday cooking. Moreover, this adaptation adds ricotta herbs and spinach for freshness, balancing the rich cheeses and sauce. Therefore, it’s a hearty dish for family meals, as it bakes to bubbly perfection and offers leftovers that taste even better the next day.

    Ingredients:

    • 9 lasagna noodles
    • 1 pound ground beef
    • 24 oz marinara sauce
    • 15 oz ricotta
    • 1 egg
    • 2 cups mozzarella, shredded
    • 1/2 cup Parmesan
    • 1 teaspoon oregano
    • Salt and pepper
    • 1 cup spinach, chopped

    Preparation:

    1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
    2. Cook noodles; drain.
    3. Brown beef; stir in sauce, salt, pepper.
    4. Mix ricotta, egg, oregano, spinach.
    5. Layer: sauce, noodles, ricotta, mozzarella; repeat, end with cheese.
    6. Cover and bake 30 minutes; uncover 20 more.
    7. Rest 15 minutes.
